The Mothers’ Union is a worldwide charity that is especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and family life. The St. Francis Mothers’ Union has over 30 members. Meetings usually start with a short act of worship, followed by a speaker and end with refreshments and a chat. We also have a Summer outing and an Autumn annual dinner and social. We regularly join other branches in the East Deanery and the Diocese for services and activities.
Members of the congregation and friends are always welcome to join in our activities.
We are very keen and proactive in raising funds for charity, providing for example 24 gift boxes for homeless people in Newcastle at Christmas 2014.
If you would like more information about St Francis Mothers Union, you can contact Dorothy Frankland on 0191 2664491 and you can visit the national website at http://www.mothersunion.org
We hold most of our meetings on the third Thursday of every month (except August) at 7.30pm, usually in the Church Hall.
